Mel's corner
It’s true: Everyone needs a reason to stay alive — someone who justifies your existence. Someone who loves you. Not beyond all reason. Just loves you. Even just shows an interest. Even someone who doesn’t exist, or isn’t yours. No, no! They don’t even have to love you! They just have to be there to love! Target for your arrows. Magnetic Pole to drag on your compass needle and stop it spinning and tell you where you’re heading and…Someone to soak up all the yearning. That’s what I think.

You know that poster that read “Get a Brain, you Morans”?

That guy was really just trying to get a rise out of Dylan Moran, Irish comedian and star of such fine films as “Run Fatboy Run” and “Shaun of the Dead”.

if you’re human or cat, you’re gonna love this blog.
I listen obsessively to music - when I wake, lying in the bath and then literally every night. I have this ritual of insanely loud music. For me, it’s a very physical thing. I do believe we’re an important end of an important era. Unfortunately nothing else ever in your life will affect you like music did in your early teens, and it puts you on a certain course. It’s like a love affair. It widens your taste and it broadens your view on everything. It saves you.
